Tamera Sutherland, MSW, provides compassionate, person-centered therapy for individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, personal growth, and emotional well-being. She earned her Master of Social Work degree in August 2026 and provides counseling services under clinical supervision as part of the Weber Counseling Services team.
Tamera brings a unique perspective to her work shaped by decades of experience listening to and connecting with people. Before entering the mental health field, she worked as a licensed cosmetologist and hairstylist for more than 37 years. Throughout that career, she witnessed firsthand how meaningful it can be for people to have a trusted space where they feel comfortable sharing their stories, challenges, hopes, and experiences.
Those years deepened Tamera’s appreciation for the power of listening, trust, empathy, and genuine human connection. Today, she brings those same qualities into the therapeutic relationship, creating a calm and welcoming environment where clients can feel heard, respected, and supported.
Tamera’s approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. She believes each client brings their own strengths, experiences, values, and perspective into therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she works alongside clients to better understand what they are experiencing, identify what matters most to them, and explore meaningful ways to move forward.
Her own life experiences, including becoming a young mother and navigating significant life transitions, helped shape her interest in supporting others through periods of change and uncertainty. Tamera understands that transitions involving relationships, family, identity, work, personal responsibilities, or changing stages of life can sometimes leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next.
Through therapy, she helps clients create space to reflect on their experiences, better understand their emotions and needs, recognize their strengths, and develop healthier ways of navigating difficult situations. Her goal is to help clients feel more confident in themselves and more connected to the direction they want their lives to take.
Tamera’s work is also grounded in cultural humility. She recognizes that family, culture, identity, community, relationships, and lived experiences can all influence how people understand themselves and the challenges they face. She approaches each client with curiosity and respect, striving to provide a space where people from different backgrounds feel comfortable showing up authentically.
Above all, Tamera brings a calm, steady, and compassionate presence to therapy. She believes clients deserve a space where they can be honest about what they are experiencing without judgment and where growth can happen at a pace that feels right for them.
Whether you are navigating a major life transition, relationship difficulties, personal growth, stress, or simply feeling uncertain about what comes next, Tamera offers a supportive space to explore your experiences, recognize your strengths, and work toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional well-being.
