David McMurray, AMFT, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who provides compassionate, collaborative therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, stress, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. He is passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen meaningful relationships, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and experiences.

David believes that lasting change often begins when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. He strives to create a warm and welcoming therapeutic environment where clients can speak openly about what they are experiencing without fear of judgment. His approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect, allowing therapy to become a collaborative space for healing, personal growth, and greater emotional well-being.

Drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and relational approaches, David helps clients explore the emotions, patterns, and underlying needs that can influence the way they relate to themselves and others. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, he works with clients to better understand what may be happening beneath the surface—helping them recognize emotional patterns, strengthen connection, and develop healthier ways of navigating stress, conflict, and vulnerability.

David has also completed the Amen University Elite Brain Health Coaching Certification Course, expanding his knowledge of the connection between brain health, emotional well-being, lifestyle, stress, habits, and overall functioning. He incorporates this broader perspective into his work when appropriate, helping clients consider how everyday choices and patterns may support their mental and emotional wellness alongside traditional therapeutic approaches.

David also offers faith-based therapy for clients who would like their spiritual beliefs or Christian faith incorporated into the counseling process. He recognizes that faith can be an important source of identity, meaning, strength, and hope. When desired by the client, David creates space to explore mental health concerns through both a therapeutic and faith-informed perspective, integrating a client’s beliefs and values in a way that supports their individual goals. Faith is never assumed or imposed; each client determines the role spirituality plays in their therapy.

For individuals struggling with anxiety or depression, David helps clients explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, life experiences, and daily patterns that may be contributing to distress while developing practical strategies for everyday life. His goal is not simply to help clients manage difficult moments, but also to support them in building greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, confidence, connection, and overall well-being.

David views therapy as a partnership. He walks alongside clients as they identify patterns that may no longer be serving them, better understand their emotional needs, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain about the future, struggling in important relationships, seeking greater alignment between their mental health and faith, or wanting to take a more intentional approach to their overall wellness, David offers a supportive place to work through those challenges.

Outside of therapy, David enjoys spending time with his dog, going on walks, listening to music, and connecting with friends. These experiences help him stay grounded and reflect his belief in the importance of balance, meaningful relationships, and connection in everyday life.

David welcomes clients wherever they are in their journey. His goal is to help each person feel supported as they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, strengthen important relationships, and move toward a healthier, more connected, and fulfilling life.
