Trauma and severe life stressors can be a constant cause of affliction and unraveling in anyone’s life. My approach to therapy consists of focusing on the individual’s present and future circumstances while setting goals and trying to find solutions to what has become ever challenging. Utilizing a diverse approach to address individual needs while working together with clients can serve to be effective. I am very passionate about helping others improve the quality of their lives in a safe and therapeutic environment as well as connecting with individual’s beliefs, values and needs. Strategizing in developing healthier coping skills necessary to work through stressful and difficult life events can demonstrate positive results; I have experience working with adults, children, and families to which I have assisted individuals with issues of self-esteem, anxiety, abuse, family conflict and divorce. I have also collaborated in developing healthy and successful coping skills for couples with communication and relationship struggles.

My education includes having a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California StateUniversity, Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton. I am bilingual and speak fluent Spanish, as well as have experience working with diverse ethnic backgrounds. I have led a 10-week parenting class in a school setting and have over 14 years of experience with applying Trauma-Informed Practice, child abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, working in conjunction with law enforcement, and mediation.
