My name is Elizabeth Guzman, and I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate challenges related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. In my work, I focus on helping clients improve their overall wellness and quality of life while recognizing how cultural background, identity, and personal experiences shape each person’s story.
I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their beliefs, discovering their identity, and building a stronger sense of purpose and self-worth. Therapy can also be a place to develop healthier communication, explore family and cultural dynamics, question traditional gender roles such as machismo, and work toward greater balance in daily life.
My clinical experience includes working with young children, adolescents, and young adults, though I also enjoy supporting adult clients. I tailor therapy to meet each client’s needs using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with creative and developmentally appropriate techniques including play therapy and art therapy.
As a first-generation Mexican-American woman, mother, and college graduate, I understand many of the challenges faced by underserved communities when seeking mental health care. I am deeply committed to supporting and advocating for marginalized populations, including Latino and immigrant communities, and to providing culturally responsive care.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from California State University, Long Beach, with a minor in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. I later received my Master’s degree in Social Work from San José State University. I am also Spanish-speaking and value being able to provide services that are accessible and culturally affirming.
My goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they work toward growth, healing, and a greater sense of balance in their lives.
