Justin Matar, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. Through Weber Counseling Services, Justin offers medication management appointments within 48 hours, helping clients access psychiatric care without unnecessary delays.
Justin earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Loma Linda University and brings extensive clinical experience treating individuals with both common and complex psychiatric conditions. His approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with empathy, open communication, and individualized treatment planning.
Justin provides medication management for conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, mood concerns, psychosis, sleep difficulties, and co-occurring substance use disorders. He works closely with each patient to understand their symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, treatment goals, and concerns before recommending a medication plan.
Justin believes that effective psychiatric medication management involves much more than writing a prescription. Treatment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and continues through careful medication selection, ongoing monitoring, follow-up appointments, and adjustments when needed. His goal is to help each patient find a treatment approach that is both clinically appropriate and aligned with their individual needs.
Earlier in his career, Justin worked with Riverside University Health System, providing psychiatric care within the Riverside County jail system. During this time, he developed significant experience treating dual diagnosis and complex psychiatric conditions, including individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use concerns.
That experience continues to inform his outpatient work today. Justin understands that psychiatric symptoms often overlap and that treatment may need to account for multiple concerns at the same time. He takes a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to assessment and works collaboratively with patients to develop safe and individualized treatment plans.
Justin also recognizes that starting or changing psychiatric medication can feel overwhelming. He encourages patients to ask questions and be actively involved in their care, taking time to explain treatment options, potential benefits, and considerations so they can make informed decisions about their mental health treatment.
His approach is collaborative, patient-centered, and evidence-based. Whether a patient is considering psychiatric medication for the first time, restarting treatment, looking for help with an existing medication regimen, or seeking a new psychiatric provider, Justin strives to make the process straightforward and supportive.
Justin provides psychiatric care to individuals throughout Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and Orange County, helping patients access timely evaluation and ongoing medication management.
Outside of his clinical work, Justin enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, traveling, and watching movies with his children. He remains committed to continuing education and staying current with psychiatric research and treatment options so he can provide thoughtful, high-quality care.
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance use concerns, or another mental health condition and are wondering whether medication may be an appropriate part of your treatment, Justin can provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and personalized medication management plan.
Medication management appointments are available within 48 hours.
