Loretta Lopez brings more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through trauma, grief, illness, and other deeply challenging life experiences. Trauma-informed care is at the heart of her work, and she believes every client deserves to be met with warmth, empathy, respect, and genuine compassion.

Loretta has extensive experience working with trauma survivors, particularly children, and understands how difficult experiences can affect emotions, relationships, behavior, self-esteem, and a person’s sense of safety. She works to create a calm, supportive therapeutic environment where clients can feel seen, heard, and valued while moving through the healing process at a pace that feels right for them.

Her clinical experience also includes helping individuals and families navigate grief and loss, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, long-term illness, terminal illness, caregiving stress, and major life transitions. Loretta recognizes that these experiences can affect every part of a person’s life and that healing often requires both emotional support and practical tools for coping with difficult circumstances.

Loretta earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Social Work. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based and strengths-focused practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and strength-based approaches. She tailors therapy to each client’s individual needs, experiences, and goals rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Through CBT and other therapeutic strategies, Loretta helps clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences. She works collaboratively with clients to identify existing strengths, develop healthier coping skills, set meaningful goals, and create practical strategies that can support lasting emotional well-being.

Loretta also helps clients develop healthy boundaries, assertive communication skills, and greater confidence in expressing their needs. Her approach balances compassion with encouragement, helping clients protect their emotional well-being while building healthier relationships with themselves and others.

She is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming space for people from all backgrounds and proudly offers LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. Loretta approaches each client with curiosity, respect, and cultural sensitivity, recognizing that identity, relationships, family, community, and life experiences can all play an important role in mental health.

Loretta understands that reaching out for therapy can require courage, especially when someone is carrying trauma, grief, fear, or overwhelming life circumstances. She views therapy as a partnership grounded in safety, trust, respect, and collaboration.

Whether you or your child are navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, serious illness, relationship challenges, or difficulties setting healthy boundaries, Loretta offers a compassionate space to process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move toward greater emotional stability and healing.
